1. Data Controller
This website is operated by Mohamed Mokhtar, trading as mokhtarr.io, based in Egypt. For the purposes of Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 (PDPL), Mohamed Mokhtar is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
You can contact us at: mohameddmokhtarrio@gmail.com
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide our services:
- Booking data — name, email address, and any information you provide when booking a consultation through Cal.com (a third-party scheduling service).
- Guide sign-ups — your email address and, if you give it, your first name, when you sign up for new guides on this website.
- Roadmap requests and workshop waitlist — your email address and first name, and what you choose to share: your answers to the roadmap questions, your WhatsApp number, your work, and the task you want help with.
- Usage data — anonymous page view statistics collected via Plausible Analytics (no cookies, no personal identifiers).
- Communication data — messages sent to us by email or Instagram direct message.
3. Purpose and Legal Basis
We process your data for the following purposes, each with a clear legal basis under the PDPL:
- To schedule and conduct consultations — necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps at your request.
- To respond to your enquiries — based on your consent when you contact us.
- To send you new guides — based on your consent when you sign up. Each email tells you how to unsubscribe, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- To understand how our website is used — based on our legitimate interest in improving our service. Plausible Analytics collects no personal data and uses no cookies.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Cal.com — appointment scheduling. Data is processed according to Cal.com's own privacy policy. Their servers may be located outside Egypt.
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — delivers guide sign-ups, roadmap requests and workshop waitlist sign-ups from this website to our email inbox. It processes the details you enter only to deliver them.
- Google (Gmail) — our email inbox, where sign-ups and messages are stored and from which we send guides.
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless, anonymous website analytics. No personal data is collected or stored.
- Lovable and Cloudflare — host this website. They may record basic page-view statistics and set short-lived technical cookies (a session cookie and Cloudflare's security cookie).
- Instagram (Meta) — if you message us on Instagram, your message is processed by Meta under their privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary:
- Booking and consultation records are retained for up to 2 years after our last interaction.
- Email and Instagram messages are retained for up to 1 year.
- Guide sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
- Anonymous analytics data has no personal data to delete.
After these periods, data is permanently deleted.
6. Your Rights Under Egyptian PDPL
Under Law No. 151 of 2020, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you may request correction of any inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your data, subject to any legal obligations to retain it.
- Right to restrict processing — you may request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mohameddmokhtarrio@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. We use encrypted communications (HTTPS) and do not store sensitive data on our own servers.
8. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Some of our third-party providers (Cal.com, FormSubmit, Google and Instagram/Meta) may process your data outside Egypt. Where this occurs, we rely on contractual safeguards and standard data protection clauses to ensure your data receives adequate protection consistent with the PDPL.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your data in accordance with the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Center (PDPC) established under Law No. 151 of 2020.
We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concern directly before you contact the PDPC. Please reach out to us first at mohameddmokhtarrio@gmail.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
